VOL. 2 vs VOL. 1

DARKSIDE has been reworking some of its classic flavors, and with the new XPERIENCE drop, we received three flavors in both their old and new versions. They were hidden under a second layer in the box — we didn’t even notice at first! So, we decided to do our review in a comparison format.

Each flavor was packed in identical bowls, preheated for the same time, and tested under identical conditions. Here’s what we found:

Fruittallity

VOL. 1 — More sour, with a vibe closer to forest berries in cream. Good brightness.

VOL. 2 — Much sweeter, resembling creamy chewy candies with wild berries. The intensity stayed the same.

Our choice: VOL. 2

Grape Core

VOL. 1 — Sweet grape with mint. Not artificial, bright and pleasant.

VOL. 2 — Grape mint gum with a noticeable chemical note. The grape brightness is very weak.

Our choice: VOL. 1

Cyber Kiwi

VOL. 1 — Sweet yogurt kiwi, with a touch of fruit seeds on the exhale. The kiwi itself is neutral, forming the background of the flavor.

VOL. 2 — Sweet and sour kiwi, closer to a smoothie or drink profile. The fruit notes are more distinct.

Our choice: both!
