Hookah Battle Bucharest Mix & Story – Offline Event, June 16

Hookah Battle Bucharest Mix & Story – an offline event where lounges from Romania and neighboring countries present their best tobacco mixes together with a visual story about their identity, atmosphere, and concept, creating a complete sensory experience for the jury.

1. Participation Requirements

1.1 Registration: Mandatory via organizers (direct communication / invitation).

Who can participate: Hookah lounges only.

1.2 What to submit:

Participants must present:

– A video or visual story (video/photo format)

– A tobacco mix (minimum 50–100 g of a ready mix, enough for 3 hookahs)

1.3 Format: Offline presentation in Bucharest, Komodo Lounge Floreasca (June 16)

1.4 Limit: Maximum number of participants may be limited at the organizer’s discretion.

1.5 Curator contacts: Contact details will be provided for communication, delivery, and coordination.

2. Preparing the Mix

2.1 The mix should immerse the viewer in the story shown in the video and be strongly associated with it.

2.2 Free mix allowed (any brands), however:

– A special award will be given for the best Darkside mix

– The mix must be prepared in advance and be ready for presentation during the event.

– In case of any logistical issues, participants must inform the organizers immediately.

3. Main Video / Visual Story

3.1 Content:

A heartfelt story about your lounge, city, or concept (not necessarily in words — it can be visual). The story must be clearly connected to the idea of the mix.

3.2 Introduction:

Tell about your lounge or brand (up to 1 minute, either inside the main video or as a separate segment).

3.3 Presentation format:

– Voice-over OR Live explanation during the event

– Participants create a visual story that inspires and immerses the audience in their atmosphere, while the mix perfectly complements it.

3.4 Examples of Concept Direction

• “Rainy City” – A cinematic video showing streets after rain, urban mood, atmosphere reflected in a fresh/dark mix

• “Taste of Culture” – Storytelling through food, traditions, and daily life, translated into flavor

• “Sea / Nature” – Visual storytelling of landscapes, translating freshness, saltiness, or air into a mix

The theme is open, each participant defines their own identity.

3.5 Video Requirements

Resolution: Full HD – 1920×1080

Format: Horizontal (landscape) preferred

Length: 2–5 minutes recommended

Language: English (mandatory)

Simple content is accepted — strong idea is more important than production quality.

4. Judging

4.1 Judges will smoke each participant’s mix and watch their video/presentation.Then they rank participants from best to worst based on:

– Story & atmosphere

– Mix quality

– Connection between mix and concept

– Results are calculated using the Hookah Battle voting system principles.

4.2 Jury:
