Maklaud – Crystal Collection №6

Gems such as rhinestone, amethyst and pyrite have already been presented in the Crystal Collection. And today Maklaud introduced model №6 – Heliodorus.

Heliodorus – yellow variety of beryl. Its name comes from the Greek words “helios” (sun) and “doron” (gift), which means “gift of the sun”. The stone owes its unique yellowness to iron impurities.

The legends of Heliodorus go back to antiquity. The ancient Greeks believed that the stone was created by the sun god Helios himself. One legend claims that the great conqueror Alexander the Great wore heliodorus in his armor to enhance his bravery and military prowess.
